When sending in a birthday treat, please send in cookies.  Cake and cupcakes are too messy in our new renovated building. All first graders can share a birthday treat with their class on the Friday closest to their real birthday.  

For safety reasons, Mrs. Garrison has asked for parents who go to recess to please observe from the sidewalk and to keep younger siblings with you.  Once again, thanks for understanding :)

Your child may bring a healthy (no candy) snack to school each day.  (optional)

Your child may also keep a water bottle (sports cap only) on their desk.  (optional )

Your child may keep a sweater in their desk for those days they are cool in the classroom.

Study your May sight words nightly.  You will need to know how to write them for the test on May 25.
Complete reading passage. Please have your child read the passage to you a few times each week.  Complete the fluency passage by answering the  questions using complete sentences.

You may turn in your reading passage any day this week.

Weekend -  Please make time to review all classwork that is in your child's Friday MOOSE.  Please keep in mind  ALL studnts  learn from mistakes.  I suggest having your child correct the mistakes.

First graders will now have the opportunity to come in after lunch twice a week to "catch up" on their unfinished work.  This will allow those students who have been absent or struggling to finish their assignment a quiet and uninterrupted time to complete their work.  

Test will be given on May 25.
A daily Language/Writing grade will be recorded on how well the words are written/spelled.  For a major grade the students will also need to be able to write simple sentences using these words for sentence dictation.
